Cannibal Girls

Beatrice Rosignoli’s provocative fashion editorial, “Cannibal Girls” follows two main influences: 90s Harajuku culture and the virtual choices and simulation of a video game. The backdrop intertwining these two threads is the dystopian world this storyline is set in; shot as a profound critique of meat consumption and intensive livestock farms, whose degenerations would foresee us as the next step: human beings posed for auction, posed on the plate.

Sirya Calace, a 22-year old emerging Italian photographer captures every intention in every detail of this editorial, directed and styled by Beatrice Rosignoli, pulling garments from her University Graduate collection. The shoot utilizes out of the box concepts, photo editing with a juxtaposition of bright colors and irreverent flash, and Rosignoli’s garments in the shoot that emphasize industrial hardware, bloodied details, and crochet hooks, aimed at simulating living muscle.

Explore Beatrice’s nightmarish hypothetical in the format of a video game character selection menu, meets meat auction.
