Pick Your Nurse Doll — A Liminal Safe is a fashion project that explores the intersection of spatial suspension and identity construction. Drawing from the psychological allure of liminal spaces—transitional, uninhabited environments like corridors and waiting rooms—this collection investigates why we are drawn to the "uncanny" as a form of contemporary escape. In a world saturated by social performativity, these suspended zones offer a vacuum where normative codes dissolve, allowing the individual to withdraw into a silent, aesthetic refuge.

The visual narrative of the collection is rooted in the subversive reinterpretation of Japanese subcultures, specifically Guro Lolita and Nurse Lolita. By blending the grotesque imagery of the "broken doll" with clinical, medical motifs—nursing uniforms, red crosses, and sanitary details—the aesthetic softens extreme tropes into symbolic fashion elements. This "medical-nostalgic" language is further influenced by the eerie, lo-fi atmospheres of cult JRPGs and horror gaming, such as Yume Nikki, Catherine, and Alisa.

The project unfolds as an explorable "dream-level" featuring four doors, each leading to a different entity. These "Nurse Dolls" wander through the space, searching for the origin of a recurring element: blood. Ambiguous and haunting, it remains unclear whether these figures are autonomous beings or fragmented reflections of a single identity. Ultimately, Pick Your Nurse Doll transforms the liminal space into a "Liminal Safe": an arena for gender and identity experimentation where the wearer can project an alternative self, free from the constraints of reality.
